Celebrating almost 1,000 years of top-class customer service on our buses

Together they help thousands of our customers – people just like you – to travel locally and across the North of England for work and play … and their decades of devoted service have been celebrated at our own glittering awards night.

Long serving members of our teams at The Harrogate Bus Company, The Burnley Bus Company, Rosso, and The Blackburn Bus Company were recognised at the Celebration of Service event, alongside our Head of Operations Alan Isherwood, who celebrates 35 years’ service in 2024.

A total of 990 years of service given by 31 of our longest serving team members was saluted at sparkling celebration dinner held in the Directors’ Suite at Headingley Stadium in Leeds – while two of those honoured are each celebrating 45 years with us.

Bus driver Geoffrey Bolton and Duty Manager Shabir Ahmed from The Keighley Bus Company have both reached the impressive 45 year milestone.

Our Managing Director Henri Rohard said: “At our Celebration of Service, we thanked 33 of our colleagues who have reached a milestone in their service with us.

“We are people serving people and the Celebration of Service helps us to remember how experienced and dedicated this company and its people are in providing everyday transport services to our customers. It is the type of event that makes us proud and humble at the same time. 

“We are all of us a sum of our experiences and stories. Thanks to all our colleagues for being part of these and for bringing such enrichment every day to our company.”

Each Celebration of Service Award winner has reached a key milestone in their career with us, having achieved 25, 30, 35, 40 or 45 years’ service.
