Our team at CitySightseeing York have created an amazing new kids’ audio tour, which is now playing aboard their iconic, bright-red, open-top buses.

Specially made for younger audiences, “Time Travelling Adventure” takes you through York’s 2000-year history with incredible stories of Roman, Viking, and Medieval characters who once roamed the very streets you are driving along.

York’s new “Time Travelling Adventure”

From Roman Walls and Dungeons deep, to Viking Centres and Chocolate streets, the city of York has countless world-famous attractions – and the best way to see them all is undoubtedly aboard our open-top tour buses.

And our new kids’ commentary, “Time Travelling Adventure”, is the perfect way for families to explore this historic city together while keeping their little travellers entertained from start to finish.

From the top deck, young historians can spot York’s most recognisable landmarks as they enjoy exciting stories that bring the city to life. They’ll even discover how York became famous for one of its tastiest treasures – chocolate!

This amazing new audio tour has been created in collaboration with North Yorkshire-based children's entertainer and founder of Enchantica’s, Suzie Vaughan – who also voices our new digital tour guide, Time Travelling Suzie.

“Being commissioned to create this time-travelling audio adventure for CitySightseeing York has been a real honour. What we’ve created isn’t just time travel – it’s an invitation into the past.

“By translating the traditional city tour into the language of children, the experience becomes more playful, more vivid, and more accessible for all. It’s storytelling theatre, with York as the stage. It’s been a joy bringing these stories to life, and I hope they capture the hearts of all who listen.”
