Planet Ice Blackburn Arena is an Olympic-sized ice arena where you can enjoy ice skating all year round – the perfect fun-filled day out for all the family, whatever the weather.
It’s also the home of Blackburn Hawks and Blackburn Eagles ice hockey clubs.
The arena, which was opened in April 1991 by Olympic skating stars Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, holds 3,200 people and has an ice pad of 60 by 30 metres.
Glide across the glistening ice rinks during public skating sessions – and whether you’re a novice or a seasoned skater, the venue’s ice skating lessons cater for all skills and ages. Hot food and snacks are available at rink side.
Blackburn Arena is easy to get to from Blackburn Bus Station, using our ValleyLine 22 towards Shadsworth or the 481 towards Bury – ask your driver for the Blackburn Arena stop and you’re there!
