Wuthering Heights by bus – Visit the home of the Brontë sisters on our Brontëbus

Walk in the footsteps of Emily Brontë’s iconic characters – Catherine and Heathcliff – and see for yourself where this literary masterpiece came to life, on Brontëbus.

With the new movie adaptation of ‘Wuthering Heights’ opening in cinemas across the country, and tickets costing no more than £2.50 each way, it’s the perfect time to visit the home of this classic work of Gothic fiction.

Experience Wuthering Heights on Brontëbus

Hidden away in the rolling hills of the South Pennines is the historic village of Haworth, home of the famous Brontë sisters and where the acclaimed novel was first penned, 179 years ago.

There’s the Brontë Parsonage Museum, which holds the world’s largest collection of Brontë possessions, and the carefully preserved family home – including the very room in which the three sisters helped each other with their genre-defining writing.

In the surrounding moorland, you can find stunning walks to ‘Top Withens’ (said to have inspired the Wuthering Heights farmhouse), Brontë waterfall, as well as the gritstone rock and ‘Fairy Cave’ mentioned throughout the story.

From its cobbled streets lined with shops, pubs, and cafes all waiting to welcome you, to the fascinating nearby Brontë-related attractions, Haworth has plenty to offer.

Getting to Haworth from across Yorkshire

With services running throughout the day, catching any of our buses to historic Haworth – and the beautiful moorland of Brontë country – has never been easier.

And thanks to the £2.50 max fare cap for single journeys (as well as £12 Duo and £16 Group tickets), it’s also never been more affordable to visit the home of Wuthering Heights!

You can visit Haworth from almost anywhere in Yorkshire, with connecting buses:

• From Leeds, Greengates and Shipley – Take Aireline 60, running every 20 minutes
• From Bradford and Saltaire – Take SHUTTLE 662, running every 15 minutes
• From Colne – Take Mainline M4, running every 30 minutes
• From Skipton – Take Dalesway 66, running every 30 minutes
• From Ilkley and Silsden – Take the 62, running every 30 minutes
• From Halifax – Take Great Northern Line 502, running hourly

The Keighley Bus Company operates three Brontëbus routes to Haworth (the Brontëbus B1, B2, and B3). These buses run every 20 minutes Monday-Saturday, and every 30 minutes on Sunday (excluding the Brontëbus B1, which does not operate on Sundays).
