The impressive Yorkshire Sculpture Park is based in the 500-acre Bretton Hall estate, near the village of West Bretton.
Yorkshire Sculpture Park is the largest of its kind in Europe and the leading international centre for modern and contemporary sculpture. It has the best and most dynamic collection of outdoor sculpture in Britain. Artists come from the around the world, including Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Brazil, India, South Korea, the UK and USA. There are always around 90 fascinating sculptures to discover in our 500 acres of gorgeous landscape.
The Sunday Times described it as “a place to wander, discover and be amazed” and it was named Yorkshire Tourist Attraction of the Year in 2023 – and whether you’re a culture fan, nature lover or walking adventurer, you’re sure to enjoy a visit here.
The park is also fantastic for families, with plenty to keep kids busy. Discover Little Wild Wood – a natural creative play space, designed to inspire young imaginations.
Whatever the weather, Yorkshire Sculpture Park is the perfect place to enjoy and connect with art and nature. There are lakes, woodlands, gardens and countryside to explore – home to sheep, geese, herons and Highland cows.
Yorkshire Sculpture Park is open Tuesday to Sunday plus Mondays during Wakefield school holidays and on Bank Holidays. Take Team Pennine’s Holmfirth Explorer X1 route to West Bretton, leaving the bus at the Bar Lane/Huddersfield Road stop. From there, it’s a 30 minute walk along the A637 Huddersfield Road until you come to a roundabout – the park entrance is signed to your right.
